Module III: Intervention of Sensory and Motor Issues in Individuals with Asperger’s Syndrome

Introduction

In this section, we will look at sensory integration as a frame of reference for intervention of individuals with Asperger’s syndrome who display difficulties with sensory processing. We must begin by defining sensory integration theory as formulated by A. Jean Ayres and revised by practitioners over the years. We can then look at common sensory processing challenges facing individuals with Asperger’s Syndrome and how to best address these challenges in sensory integration based intervention.
