Please take a moment and describe every motor movement decision that you made when you moved from a standing to sitting position. When you’re about to sit in a chair, how to you know when to shift your weight from your legs to your buttocks? How do you know not to touch a stove because it’s hot? Why do people rollerblade? How do you know if you’re hungry? When driving through a small tunnel, how do you know your car won’t smash into the bottom of the arch? Your sensory system is constantly providing you with feedback to help you make these decisions. Even while you’re reading this section your sensory system might inform your endorphins to give you additional energy to stay up and finish this section, or you might be bored, needing input and your sensory system will tell you to twirl your hair.
